The University of Lampung Visits LUJ Campus

On October 22, 2024, LUJ had the pleasure of hosting 33 students and faculty from the University of Lampung's (UNILA) Master of Management Program. Founded in 1965, UNILA has for nearly six decades helped over 20,000 students prepare for careers in Business and Economics. The purpose of their LUJ visit was to learn more about how international students are admitted to LUJ, take a campus tour, and learn more in particular about how Japan does business globally.

One of the highlights for LUJ participants came when UNILA graduate student Shahnaz Rafika delivered a presentation about their university. "It was fascinating," recalled LUJ Dean Charles Laurier. "Learning about UNILA and Lampung was an enlightening experience, and I believe learning about their school will open up new ideas and potential avenues of education." Dean Laurier added that he also enjoyed "learning about a part of Indonesia I hadn't been that familiar with."

LUJ Associate Vice President Charlie Stockman also found the presentation "riveting," saying that he enjoyed learning about "various aspects of Lampung, such as tourism and culture."

Also helping to facilitate the visit was LUJ Business and Finance Professor Anca Todica, who gave a presentation centered on "Business Across Cultures."

Professor Todica was also impressed with Lampung's presentation. "I feel it is really important for Lampung to differentiate itself from Bali and other more known Indonesian areas, so I enjoyed how the presentation helped highlight that."

Heading the UNILA group is Dean, Prof. Dr. Nairobi, Deputy Dean Dr. Ernie Hendrawaty, S.E., M.Si, and Dr. Roslina, who heads the Master of Management study program. Also here at LUJ was Dr. Zainnur M. Rusdi, S.E., M.Sc.

LUJ hopes to continue to build and further grow our partnership with UNILA.
