Lakeland University Japan (LUJ) is a recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Education (MEXT) as a foreign campus in Japan. We offer Associate of Arts degrees as well as Bachelor’s degrees on our Japan campus which hosts students and faculty from more than 20+ different countries. As a campus of an American university in Japan, LUJ teaches in English and proudly offers the same curriculum (on selected majors) as our home campus in Wisconsin.

LUJ is currently seeking candidates for a faculty position (open rank) in various subject areas. The area of specialization is open, but candidates must be able to teach introductory courses as well as more advanced courses to begin September 2nd, 2024.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a passion for education and are willing to help our students achieve their educational objectives.

Supplementary explanation of compensation

This is a full-time position and faculty are expected to fully commit to the institution. In principle no part-time job is allowed.

Although faculty are expected to teach 3 courses per term, there might be cases when overloads are necessary. Such overloads will be negotiated with the dean of faculty and paid at the end of the fiscal year.

Each course will be taught two days a week over 12-13 weeks followed by one meeting during final exam week.
