LUJ Professors Help Yasuda Gakuen Students with Presentation Skills

On October 11, six LUJ professors headed over to Yasuda Gakuen High School and provided feedback for over 120 students. The presentations covered a wide variety of subject areas, including science, chemistry, fashion, business, travel, history, marketing, and international culture. Yasuda Gakuen students had three minutes to give their presentation, which included PowerPoint slides. The presentations were held in six different classrooms between 1-3pm.

The professors were impressed with how prepared the students were. "I enjoyed seeing how thorough some students were with their slides," says LUJ professor Patrick Parr. Although some students were nervous, since many of the LUJ professors sat "front and center," during the presentations, Parr believed it would "only help them in the long run become better public speakers."

"It was a nice surprise to hear students present on such a wide range of topics," says Professor Valdorian Cline.

"Quite a smorgasbord of topics, ranging from hair oil to the regional environmental impact on animals," adds Shey Weaver, who also teaches in the Undergraduate program at LUJ.
