LUJ Meets with U.S. Embassy Outreach Coordinator Meagan Aitkenhead

On Monday morning, LUJ had the honor of meeting Ms. Meagan D. Aitkenhead, English Language Outreach Coordinator for the Public Affairs section of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo.

Topics discussed included LUJ’s current English Club program with Sumida-ku’s Board of Education as well as LUJ’s American Campus Experience (ACE) program.

Other topics included LUJ’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program, the Conference for Global Higher Education—its 10th Annual Conference coming in June—and its ongoing Lakeland Lecture series, with lectures coming up on October 12 (Simon Cosgrove) and November 8 (Akira Kawasaki), the latter in partnership with Bunkyo Gakuin University.

Ms. Aitkenhead outlined potential embassy resources LUJ could use in the future when implementing programs and delivered a few printed resources to add to our library. We at LUJ welcome her back any time.
