Want to Study Abroad Here? Try API
Ever since our main campus, Lakeland University Wisconsin, announced a new partnership with Academic Programs International (API) last year, LUJ has been accepting students who used API to study abroad here in Tokyo.
A couple of weeks ago, 8 API students visited Asakusa during an LUJ-organized field trip. Asakusa, a popular tourist destination, is only a short commute from our campus building in Ryogoku. In fact, LUJ is only a 3–5-minute walk away from a number of sites, such as the Kokugikan Arena, the Sword Museum, and the Kyu-Yasuda Garden, to name a few. Below are a few photos.
As Lara, an API alum, said of her time in Japan, "Tokyo was an unforgettable experience and it will always hold a special place in my heart. From the seamless subway systems to the hustle and bustle of city life all around."
Besides cultural trips, many of the API students are also enrolled in our General Education classes, such as, among others, General Humanities, Public Speaking, Composition, and the Foundations of Critical Thinking. We also offer elective classes such as Music in Japan, Manga and Anime, and Chanoyu: The Way of Tea. The credits students earn here will be transferred to their respective colleges.
