Strategic Cooperation Established Between Lakeland University Japan and Seg Education
Lakeland University Japan (LUJ), the Japan campus of Lakeland University in Wisconsin, U.S., has formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Seg Education, a state-owned educational institution in China, establishing a long-term partnership to expand international higher education opportunities for Chinese students.
Headquartered in Wisconsin, U.S., Lakeland University operates its international campus, Lakeland University Japan, in Tokyo. LUJ offers English-medium undergraduate and graduate programs based on the American higher education model, providing students with an international academic environment and the opportunity to pursue an American university education in Japan. Seg Education brings extensive experience in international education in China, with established pre-university educational programs and overseas student placement services.
Through this strategic cooperation, LUJ and Seg Education will establish a pathway for qualified Chinese students seeking to pursue higher education at Lakeland University Japan. The partnership will provide students with a structured route from China to an American university education in Japan, combining Seg Education's preparatory education with LUJ's undergraduate and graduate programs.
As part of the cooperation, Seg Education will independently develop and operate a foundation and bridging program in China designed to prepare prospective students for entry into LUJ. The program will provide academic, language, and other preparation to help students transition successfully into an English-medium university environment. The program will be developed and administered by Seg Education independently, while LUJ will provide information regarding its admission requirements and academic programs to support students in preparing for their transition to the university.
Through this cooperation, students will gain greater access to international educational opportunities connecting China, Japan, and the United States. At the same time, LUJ and Seg Education will explore further opportunities for educational and academic exchange.
Moving forward, the two institutions will work together to strengthen the student pathway, enhance admission and student support processes, and provide qualified Chinese students with a clear and supportive route toward an American university education in Japan. Through this partnership, both parties aim to help more students achieve their international academic goals and prepare for future study and career opportunities in an increasingly globalized world.
