LUJ celebrates first B.A. graduates in Ryogoku campus

Lakeland University Japan celebrated a number of historic moments at its recent Commencement Ceremony held on August 6th. At its first ceremony held at the new Ryogoku campus, the LUJ community celebrated over forty new graduates - including both Associate of Arts (A.A.) graduates and its first cohort of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree recipients.

The 2022 graduates, representing numerous countries including Japan, the U.S., and Sweden, were joined by a number of esteemed guests that included Dr. David Black (LUJ's original founder, former president of Lakeland University Wisconsin, and current Representative Director of LUJ), Dr. Elizabeth Borgen (current President of Lakeland University Wisconsin), Mr. Rahm Emanuel (U.S. Ambassador to Japan), Dr. Paul Snowden (former Representative Director of LUJ), and Mr. Yasufumi Kibe (representative from the Sumida Ward Office).

A video clip of U.S. Ambassador Rahm Emanuel's inspirational message to the LUJ Class of 2022 can be viewed above.

Lakeland University Japan is proud to recognize the incredible efforts and accomplishments of these graduates, and welcome them into the growing family of our alumni.
