LUJ Adjunct Professor of Music Pat Glynn to Play with Jazz Ensemble
On October 22 and November 5, LUJ Adjunct Professor of Music Pat Glynn will play double bass as a part of the Yutaka Shiina Inspired Swing Special Quartet. Both Thursday performances will be held at Katsushika Symphony Hills, in Iris Hall. Doors open at 6:30pm and starts at 7.
For the October 22 performance, legendary Italian jazz tenor saxophonist Max Ionata will perform the quartet, which besides Glynn includes Junji Hirose on drums and Yutaka Shiina on piano. On November 5, swapping in for Ionata will be tenor and soprano saxophonist Tim Armacost.
Tickets are 8,000-yen, but LUJ students can receive a discounted rate of 5,000-yen.

Mr. Glynn has been at Lakeland for many years. His first album, "Who's on Bass," was released in 2014, and reviewed by Jazz in Japan as "packed with energy and feeling." Glynn has performed in 10 different countries, and 49 out of 50 states...Utah waiting in the wings.
