Lakeland University Japan Selected as an Official Partner Event of SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026
Lakeland University Japan (LUJ) has been selected to host an official partner event as part of SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 (Sustainable High City Tech)—Asia’s largest innovation conference and a leading global platform focused on creating sustainable new value to address urban challenges through advanced technology, diverse ideas, and digital expertise.
Organized with the support of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, SusHi Tech Tokyo brings together startups, industry leaders, policymakers, and academic institutions from around the world to showcase and develop solutions for the future of sustainable cities.
As part of the preparation for the upcoming LUJ Global Student Innovation Challenge, several LUJ students and faculty members recently participated in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, engaging directly with startup founders, entrepreneurs, university representatives, industry professionals, and ecosystem partners from Japan and around the world.
Through these experiences, students explored emerging developments in artificial intelligence, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven innovation while gaining valuable exposure to real-world startup and innovation environments.
The participation reflects LUJ’s continued commitment to experiential, globally connected, and industry-engaged learning. By engaging with innovation communities beyond the classroom, students are able to strengthen their professional networks, broaden their perspectives, and further develop ideas connected to real-world challenges and opportunities.
These experiences also help support the development of the LUJ Global Student Innovation Challenge
by encouraging collaboration, creativity, interdisciplinary thinking, and meaningful engagement with Tokyo’s broader startup ecosystem.

Students in Action
As part of LUJ’s broader engagement with Tokyo’s startup and innovation ecosystem, students have also participated in entrepreneurship and networking activities at Venture Café Tokyo and Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB).
These experiences provided students with opportunities to interact with entrepreneurs, innovators, startup founders, ecosystem participants, and university representatives while exploring practical perspectives on innovation, collaboration, and real-world problem solving beyond the classroom environment.
Through continued participation in innovation-focused communities and events, LUJ seeks to strengthen experiential learning, globally connected education, and meaningful student engagement with Tokyo’s evolving startup ecosystem.
