Attendance Rates and Student Card Stamps: LUJ Policy
This letter is to certify the policies of Lakeland University Japan (LUJ), the Tokyo branch campus of Lakeland University, an American university accredited in the United States and officially recognized in Japan by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
LUJ does not issue attendance records or certificates specifically regarding class attendance. However, we do issue unofficial transcripts that include students ’ grades. Receiving a grade in a course indicates that the student has attended classes regularly and fulfilled the academic requirements of that course.
Students who fail to attend classes are generally dismissed and therefore are not eligible to receive a Certificate of Enrollment from our institution. Accordingly, if a student presents both an Unofficial Transcript and a Certificate of Enrollment from Lakeland University Japan, this confirms that the student has maintained regular class attendance.
Should you require any further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact Student Affairs at studentaffairs@japan.lakeland.edu
Lakeland University Japan issues student identification cards to both domestic and international students on the first day of the academic term, during the orientation event.
Please note that official validation, including the application of institutional stamps, is conducted only after the start of the term and is not provided prior to the first day of classes.
Should you require alternative documentation to verify a student’s enrollment status before the commencement of the term, please feel free to contact Student Affairs.
