The SGA is a student-led association that works together with the university in providing various extra-curricular activities offered for the our community. SGA hosts and promotes both traditional and unique events, manages the SGA budget, and oversees student clubs. Becoming an SGA member is an excellent opportunity for motivated students to give back to the community by not only becoming a voice for their fellow students, but a liaison between them and the rest of the university. A great emphasis is also placed on listening to students and ensuring a university climate that is conducive to student satisfaction.
One of our largest events. Students, faculty, and staff showcase dishes from their own country. Proceeds are donated to an NPO/NGO while participants enjoy food from around the world.
Funded and organized by the SGA. Students, faculty, and staff enjoy the summer season with food and sports events, such as soccer, water gun wars, beach volleyball, and much more! Plus, a lot of good eats that will be grilled on the spot!
Coordinated by our professors Dr. Adam Tompkins and Charles Laurier, this provides opportunities for students to engage in service learning by conducting research and engaging in community outreach. Much of the focus has been on chronicling the history of the former Tachikawa Air Base in West Tokyo. The group continues to engage in projects in the Tachikawa and Sunagawa areas, and is planning to initiate a re-photography project in the greater Tokyo area to show the dramatic changes to the cityscape by replicating the photograph shots on old postcards. Activities of the this group have been featured in the Tokyo Shinbun news.
