The Lakeland Lecture Series Presents: Deepening our Understanding of DE&I through Waacking, by Junkoo

The concept of DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) has become widely discussed in recent years, with many companies incorporating it into their this into their business plans. An important element of DE&I could be described as “respecting differences.”

Dancing and other forms of non-verbal communication can actually help us to respect and understand differences, both mentally and physically. In this participatory, experiential lecture, Junkoo will introduce Waacking dance, which has its roots in the LGBTQ scene in late 1970s Los Angeles. The session will also include a short dance lesson to let the participants "understand and accept it mentally and physically."
