A High-Demand Industry

About The Program

Lakeland University's Management Information Systems (MIS) Degree, combines expertise in Business Administration and Computer Science.

Management Information Systems is ideal for students who are interested in analytics and solving business problems using technology. Graduates of this program may begin careers in programming, but go on to provide leadership in the areas of applications development, systems analysis and design, data and predictive analytics, and project management.

Like most sectors, the financial and business world relies heavily upon computers and networking in its continued operation. Today, many common financial tasks such as filing taxes and applying for loans or credit cards are completely computerized. Students who complete majors in Management Information Systems are the ones behind the scenes of these financial systems ensuring their continued working health. They study both the technology of business and its use, bringing a solution-oriented vision to companies hoping to compete in the global marketplace or streamline operations.

Graduates with an MIS degree will be extremely marketable, because they will be well-versed in project management, digital data analysis, and website development among many other modern business world skills.
