LUJ's Data Science (B.S.) major can be completed fully at the Tokyo campus, or students can choose to join the Batten & Black School of International Studies to include short- or long-term study abroad at LU Wisconsin.

This program is highly sought-after by regional employers and will immerse students across the fields of technology, programming, statistics and data analysis, and visualization.

Data Science will prepare students to design, develop, implement, and operate complex processes and systems.

Curriculum

Students who have successfully completed a B.S. in Data Science from Lakeland University Japan should be able to:

  • Develop a computer program using programming languages.
  • Properly manage databases.
  • Apply project management principles and techniques to data sciences projects.
  • Assess the quality of data input, interpret results, and investigate issues for large data sets using appropriate technical methods and models.
  • Use mathematical methods and statistical methods and techniques in models and data science.
  • Develop a statistical model using statistical software packages.
  • Formulate and use appropriate models of industrial data analysis to solutions to industry-related challenges.
