LUJ’s 10th Annual Conference on Global Higher Education: Call for Papers
On Saturday, June 1, 2024, LUJ will be holding its 10th Annual Conference on Global Higher Education (CGHE), and, as always, we’re excited to hold the one-day event here at our campus in Ryogoku.
The theme this year is “The More Things Change.” As conference director Roger Grabowski puts it, with a multitude of challenges facing faculty around the world, “How can we get ‘back to basics’ in teaching and connecting with students in a way that is relevant in today’s changing and expanding educational world?”
LUJ is now accepting proposals related to higher education. Possible topics could revolve around “global competency, foreign language education, classroom diversity, cross-cultural communication, student advising, foreign student recruiting, study abroad, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), area studies, environmental education, or related issues.”
Surprise us, too. The topics above are simply ways to get the wheels turning.
The deadline to send a proposal (under 250 words) is December 20, 2023, and should be sent by email to submissions@japan.lakeland.edu
If you’re not ready to submit your proposal but have questions, those can be sent to conference@japan.lakeland.edu
Also, check out our conference website to learn more and to see the schedule for LUJ’s past CGHE.
We hope to see you here in June. If you can’t make it, feel free to pass this flyer on to an educator you think might be interested in attending or presenting.
