LUJ Basketball Holds Off Bunkyo Gakuin in Exhibition
On July 11, on Bunkyo Gakuin University’s home court, LUJ’s Basketball Club team defeated BGU 80-68, in a game filled with fast breaks, fadeaway jump shots, behind the back passes, and three-point bombs.
The crowd cheered both teams, and the level of play remained high throughout all four quarters. Leading LUJ was team captain Ryuichi Uchiyama, who at point guard helped control the tempo and keep his team in front for the entire game. Tayshaun Malik Trisby led all scorers with 45 points.
BGU kept the game close and fought back with an array of threes, but in the end, LUJ claimed the victory.
LUJ’s next game will be in the fall.
