LUJ Alumni Meet Up and Enjoy a River Cruise
On Saturday, June 24, the LUJ Alumni Association took its first ever Alumni River Cruise up and down the Sumida River. The hakatabune left from Kanda River docks across from LUJ with around ten alumni and teachers for a two-and-a-half-hour dinner cruise up and down the Sumida.
A delectable dinner of tempura, yakiniku, and other delights was served, and a cooler stocked and restocked with all manner of beverages kept the party going as the boat made its way first to Odaiba, and then back up the river to the Skytree.
A continuous panorama of famous Tokyo scenes rolled by, as the party alternated between the refreshing cool headwind up on deck, or the pleasant and comfortable confines of the table in the cabin.
All participants said they greatly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to next year's cruise, but even before that, to the Summer Alumni Get-together at LUJ's new campus in Ryogoku.
More details about that will be coming soon. Stay tuned.
We love to hear from any and all LUJ alumni. Contact Charles Laurier at claurier@japan.lakeland.edu
