Holly Woolbright currently teaches Reading Workshop at Lakeland University. She earned a Master of Arts in Education from the University of California Santa Cruz and a Masters in Photojournalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Before moving to Japan, she taught in high school and university English programs and worked on language assessment projects in California. In 2015, she served as an English Language Fellow for the U.S. Department of State, assisting with the development of a Communicative Grammar textbook, facilitating teacher training workshops for local teachers, and assisting the embassy with various outreach projects in Tanzania. In 2016, she worked for the Colombian government helping to implement a new bilingual program in the public schools, evaluating the progress of the program through observations and assessment, while supporting volunteers and creating teaching workshops. Holly’s passion is making learning fun and student-centered, sparking a love for English and critical thinking in the classroom.
