LUJ Outdoor time REVISED

To all LUJ students, faculty, and staff,

One of the greatest things about being part of LUJ has always been the various events and activities
that give us the chance to meet, talk, and enjoy time together. It has been difficult to group together
over this long year, BUT there are still ways to join together safely during these times!

A great and safe way for us to come together is outdoors. We have planned a fun, relaxing, and easily
socially-distanced "LUJ Outdoor Time" event in Yoyogi Park—a massive outdoor park (free entry)
with more than enough room for us to spread out. This is open to anyone who's looking for some fresh
air and the chance to enjoy a fun day together.

Event Details
Date: July 24th
Time: 10:00 - 15:00 (see poster for details)
Location: Yoyogi Park (meet at the clock tower; events will be held near the clocktower entrance...look for some LUJ shirts:))
Activities: fun team activities/challenges, music, frisbee, soccer, foodie groups (or anything else you'd like to bring for fun!)

Click here to register for the event

✅ All current students, faculty and staff are welcome to join!

Everyone will be masked, hand sanitizers are ready, and any food or drink should be brought by yourself. Team activity supplies
will be provided, but it's a park...so feel free to bring other things you might like:).

We hope to see you there, and please contact our student ambassadors Reina Arisaka (rarisaka@japan.lakeland.edu) or Larissa Nishimura (lderrigonishimura@japan.lakeland.edu)  if you have any questions.

Dear Students,

Waitlist image

Students should keep in mind that even if a class is full, there is an online waiting list

This waiting list, however, does not guarantee registration for classes. Therefore, when you sign up for the waiting list, you must also register for an alternate class, since most students do not get into waitlisted class. Academic Affairs will contact you directly if a seat becomes available in the class you are waitlisted for. Otherwise, all waiting lists will be cancelled on Monday, July 5th.

Following registration week, if you could not get into a class you need or strongly want, please wait until Monday, August 30th, 2021. This is the start day of the "Add/Drop Period" when another waitlist will become available if your desired class is still full at the time of attempted registration.

As always, only sign up for classes which are approved by your advisor.

Thank you,

Academic Affairs

Dear Academic Students,

This semester, we continue to use the same procedure from previous semesters for Course Withdrawal to best accommodate the current situation. For those who wish to withdraw from a course, please carefully read our advice and follow the instructions shown below.

■Deadline for a course withdrawalFriday, June 25th by 5:00 pm

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE WITHDRAWING FROM A COURSE

  1. Before you make up your mind on withdrawing from a course, please make sure that you consult with your instructor to find the true status of your course progress. Your instructor may have a different view on your outcome of your final grade.
  2. No payment refunds (including time and efforts you have already invested).
  3. Your expected graduation term may be extended due to the shortage of credit hours by withdrawing from a course this term.
  4. The course level that you can register for may be affected.
  5. If you are on a school-sponsored visa, you may not reduce your workload below nine semester hours after withdrawing from one or more courses. If you also repeatedly withdraw from courses and slow down on your academic progress, you may increase the chance of not getting your student visa renewed by the Immigration Bureau.
  6. If you are receiving a G.I. Bill benefit, you should contact Student Affairs (for more information.
  7. If you are receiving U.S. Financial Aid, you should contact the Financial Aid Office at the main campus for more information.
