Originally from Westfield, NJ, Pat Glynn has a B.M in Music Education from James Madison University and a M.M in Jazz Studies and Pedagogy from Northern Illinois University. He has taught Music History and Appreciation and Music Theory at Lakeland College since 2012. Before coming to Lakeland, Pat taught at Keio University (SFC), Seminole Community College (Sanford, FL), and St. Cassian School (Montclair, NJ). Additionally, he has been an active clinician for student groups from elementary to college level.
As a performer, Pat has experience in all styles of music but has focused mainly on jazz and Broadway, both on tour and in New York. Some of the Broadway shows he has performed are: Chicago, Chitty-Chitty, Bang-Bang, Mary Poppins, Fiddler On The Roof, Annie Get Your Gun. Pat has also performed or recorded with these artists: Sam Rivers, Eddie Henderson, Sadao Watanabe, Take Six, Sigur Ros, and Tommy Campbell. His main instruments are the tuba, electric bass, and double bass. In 2014, he released his first CD as a leader, Who's On Bass, featuring Carl Allen and Cyrus Chestnut.
