Dr. Iskra Gencheva has taught at Lakeland College Japan since 2010. She has graduated from the University of Sofia “St Kliment Ohridski” with a Master’s degree in Classics and Literature, and a Doctoral degree in History. Her research, academic presentations, and publications are on various aspects of Ancient History, Religion, and Culture. Dr. Gencheva is a Visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo and a recipient of many academic awards, among them an NEH Fellowship Award for her work on the earliest illuminated manuscripts in Europe. As a Professor of Humanities at Lakeland College Japan, Dr. Gencheva created and successfully developed a project named Vox Humana (link), whose achievements have been officially recognized by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan.
