Dr. Hornia was raised and educated in NYC. Received his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from New York University. At the City of New York University's (CUNY) Hunter College he did his graduate studies and received his Ph.D in Molecular Biology. Conducted research on adenovirus-based gene therapy as a postdoctoral researcher at Weill Cornell Medical College (NYC). Afterward he conducted research using mouse stem cells at a biotechnology company in Florida and then human stem cell research at a medical college in Japan. Presently, he is an adjunct professor at the Japan campus of Lakeland College teaching Mathematics courses and Biology.
